Ayurvie Weligama - Ayurvedic Retreat by Thema Collection - Adults Only-

The setting made for a dream Christmas getaway, and we loved celebrating our anniversary here for three days. We booked the suite, joined a yoga session with breathtaking sunset views, and spent plenty of time in the well-maintained pool. The sea view was refreshing, the spacious rooms were very clean, and the nearby beach was just a two-minute walk away. It was wonderfully quiet there, too. We’re Jain vegetarians and avoid root vegetables such as onion, potato and garlic. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to arrange delicious breakfasts that suited us. Everything about the resort was exceptional.

The calm, sincere atmosphere is what I’ll remember most from my four weeks at Ayurvie Weligama in January. I had a full Panchakarma programme, with Dr Isuru overseeing it. He was knowledgeable, confident and caring, and the thorough programme was tailored to me. Rekha, my therapist, was attentive, skilled and deeply present. Emil’s yoga classes had real depth and discipline, and as a yoga teacher myself, I still learned a great deal from him. I felt at home from arrival. The reception team were kind, attentive and always available. The kitchen and food service staff prepared delicious meals with care. Kaveesha looked after my room twice a day and always greeted me warmly, while Bandula at the pool was consistently kind and attentive. The setting is stunning, with sea views, quiet surroundings and the jungle beach right there. There are good surfing spots nearby. Some mornings I went surfing before treatment, and on many others I walked down for an ocean swim after yoga. Nothing felt rushed or impersonal. I had room to rest, heal and be myself, and I’m grateful for the time here. Ayurvie Weligama is a special place I’ll remember fondly.

The natural setting and thoughtful design made Ayurvie Weligama a beautiful place to rest and reflect. Surrounded by greenery and looking out over the ocean, the centre feels peaceful and harmonious. It’s much more than a wellness centre to me, it’s a place for care, balance and genuine connection. I felt at ease and well looked after from the moment I arrived. The staff were kind, professional and attentive, and the doctors listened carefully before creating treatments suited to me. The therapists were skilled and dedicated, working with care and respect. Chandane especially made a difference with her sensitive approach, professionalism and positive energy. Her treatments felt both effective and deeply restorative. The yoga teacher was also an important part of my stay. The classes were accessible and thoughtfully structured, balancing movement with inner awareness. Each one helped me reconnect with my body and breath in a gentle but powerful way. I’m deeply grateful for the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Ayurvie Weligama to anyone seeking authentic Ayurveda in a beautiful, supportive setting.

I spent two full weeks here with lovely people, and the kitchen crew deserves a big shout out for serving tasty, colourful meals every day. The service was amazing, from Kaveesha taking care of the rooms to miss Ayodya keeping us company during meals. I’m especially glad I got to spend my stay alongside Dr. Koshalie, such an extremely kind and beautiful soul. Thank you! The house design is lovely, with wood and stone carving in the Sinhalese style. The main entrance lights up through its panels, like at the Embekka Devalaya. Inside, there’s a big illuminated foyer with wood panelling, huge windows, white walls and a shiny floor. Authentic decorative details fill the hallways and rooms. The carved wooden shutters in the treatment area are pleasing to look at, too. Out back there’s a small, lovely green space with palms and a place to chill.
