I was here for 3.5 weeks while doing my yoga teacher training just down the road at Rila Yoga, and felt very comfortable and safe as a solo woman in my mid-20s. The hosts were helpful and extremely responsive the whole time. Having a kitchen was a real perk. I'd been traveling full time for four months without cooking, so making a meal here 3-4 times was a nice change. The rooms are extremely spacious. Friends from training stayed at other homestays on Kalukanda road, and after seeing four of them, I think mine had the biggest room, plus the only huge shared living room and kitchen. It's about a 35 minute walk to central Weligama, or a 500 rps tuk-tuk ($1.5 USD). Nearby food spots I'd recommend are Silent Pup, Goxo, and Delizioso. One of my favorite things was seeing all the neighborhood boys gather at the main house to play cricket in the middle of the day. It was so cute.

Samantha & Jasmine cooked us delicious traditional food, with a new surprise every day, and we felt right at home. We loved staying at Kavirose Holidays Home. It's close to the cute jungle beach, a lovely spot for sunset, and Coconut beach is nearby too, so beautiful. There are lots of buses to other cities and beaches, including Mirissa in 15 minutes and Matara and Pohlena Beach in 25 minutes. Gogogo to Kavirose!

Had a really nice stay in this quiet, tucked-away guest house near the beautiful, peaceful jungle beach. The rooms were clean and good value, and the homemade food was delicious. It's a real Sri Lankan family home. 100% recommended.

A very clean, homely place with kind, hospitable hosts. I needed to check out early because of other travel plans, and they kindly accepted partial payment. Parking is available, but it's better to let the hosts know early to avoid any jam.
