Villa Coconut - Hostel

What made my Weligama holiday work out so well was choosing this stay. They helped me through the whole trip, and I really appreciated the familiar, comfortable hospitality, especially as it was the end of the season. I was very happy with my stay, and the price for such a charming, calming place felt very reasonable. It felt safe and clean, and the place welcomes both foreigners and locals. It’s a large property about 4-5 km from Weligama town towards Midigama, right near coconut beach. The peaceful setting includes a small shop for essentials and a separate kitchen. They can prepare food to suit your needs, or you can cook for yourself. Yoga sessions run during the day in the villa’s yoga building. Prices vary, so contact the owners and follow their instructions. You can also rent bikes through the villa. I rented a scooter for two days at a reasonable price. I felt lucky to have picked one of the best stays in Weligama. Thank you for making my holiday so easygoing right through to the end. We really enjoyed how calm and lovely the place was, and the owner was very nice. But the villa we stayed in is overdue for some upgrades. There were lots of insects in the wood, so the floor had wood shavings on it every day. We’d been looking forward to cooking, but the kitchen was very dirty and didn’t have many supplies for six people. The monkeys all around were a big plus, though!

The owners are super friendly, and the rooms are clean and well looked after. It’s set on a large jungle property away from the main road, but coconut beach is still an easy walk.

The garden at Villa is a special place, full of birds and animals and a real sense of harmony. Everyone working there was caring, approachable, and very supportive. They helped us with everything from laundry to arranging a safari tour at a really comfortable price. We’re very grateful for our stay and recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy Sri Lanka.
