Ayr Castle 1922 Boutique-hotel

We watched a breathtaking sunset from the Edinburgh Suite’s magnificent, comfortable terrace overlooking the garden. The suite is spacious and works well for families. Ayr Castle was a lovely, quiet place to finish our Sri Lanka trip, surrounded by nature and offering a chance to take in the scenery and learn about the country’s history. The staff were very kind, especially Sadeesha and Chef Mahesh, who adapted the dishes for our gluten-free needs. Highly recommended!

The road leading to Ayr Castle could use some improvement, though I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon. Apart from that small concern, everything about the stay was pleasant and well looked after. The calm, inviting atmosphere and picturesque surroundings made it a memorable visit, with stunning views all around. The food was delicious too, every dish fresh and full of flavor.

We loved waking up to the sounds of nature, and the gardens and outdoor areas made for a relaxing break from Colombo while still leaving us close enough to get back to the city easily. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The old building has so much charm, and the setting at Castle Ayr 1922 is beautiful and peaceful. The team took great care of us and made us feel spoiled. The food was delicious throughout, especially the beautifully presented, flavorful high tea and dinner. There’s a special sense of calm, character, and old-world atmosphere here. Thank you to the whole team at Castle Ayr for hosting us so warmly. We’ll return and stay longer next time!

Mr. Dulshan, the Resort Manager, was especially helpful and supportive throughout our stay. His friendly manner and professionalism really added to the experience. We had a wonderful time at Ayr Castle. The peaceful, well-maintained surroundings made it a relaxing place to unwind, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, welcoming getaway.
