Sanu Lagoon Resort & Spa

My first time kayaking was magical. The lagoon scenery was breathtaking, and it was peaceful while still giving me a great workout. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, in a great spot in Tangalle, Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel welcome. Food and service were very good for the reasonable prices. Nature lovers, photographers and families looking for a relaxing day out would enjoy it. It's a great example of hospitality, and I'd definitely recommend staying here. 5/5 stars! Thank you ❤️

Please replace the broken and damaged tiles in the children's pool. My two and a half year old daughter came out with scrapes and cuts on her legs in several places after swimming there. On our recent visit, we booked HB. The food was tasty, but the raisin pudding (watalappan) served after dinner seemed expired. It tasted sour and had a sticky texture, so we refused it. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and good, but it had none of the basics we expected: no cups, heater jug, tea, coffee or sugar. The staff were friendly and helpful. The next morning, while my car was parked in front of the hotel, a worker swept dirt and dust from the top floor down onto it.

The rooms were recently renovated, clean and comfortable, and the lagoon view made the peaceful setting especially relaxing. The place is quiet and away from the crowds, yet Hiriketiya Beach is only about a 10 minute drive away. We had a pleasant stay at SANU Lagoon Resort & Spa. The one small issue was at night, when no reception desk or staff were available. We needed blankets and some help but couldn't get assistance then. It would be even better with support available around the clock.

We stopped at Sanu Lagoon Resort and Spa in Morakatiyara for a late lunch while travelling and were pleasantly surprised. Even though it was outside normal lunch hours and the regular menu had limited choices, the staff kindly made fried rice for us on request. It was fresh, tasty and satisfying, a simple meal done well. The resort is spacious, tidy and peaceful, with lots of open space. The washrooms were clean, and there was plenty of parking. Service stood out: the staff were friendly and welcoming, and made an effort to ensure we were comfortable despite our odd visiting time. It left us with a good impression of the hospitality there. A nice place to pause and recharge while passing through Morakatiyara. I'd like to return for a longer stay and see more of the resort.
