We liked how quiet the spot was, even though the beach was close by. Mirissa’s busy main road is far enough away that the hotel felt peaceful, and breakfast each morning was hearty. The room was welcoming, spacious and clean, with strong air conditioning and a mini fridge. WiFi was especially quick and reliable compared with other places we stayed in Sri Lanka. A couple of things to know: toilet paper goes in a bin rather than being flushed, because of the plumbing. The breakfast room has lots of space and is pleasant, though all the ads on the walls make it feel a bit commercial. Just a personal impression. Awon Hotel was good value for comfortable, simple accommodation without extra luxuries.

We had a wonderful stay, and the hotel was great value. It was clean and quiet, with the beach nearby, and the air conditioning worked well. Mirissa is a remote part of Sri Lanka, so there can be an occasional five-minute blackout or slow WiFi, which is probably down to the area. You have to roll with those little things, stay in the moment, and enjoy the adventure. Thanks for a lovely visit!

The room had a few problems: neither the hot water nor the TV worked, and the balcony light stayed on all night with no switch inside to turn it off. That made it hard for us to sleep. The location was excellent, just a walk from the beach. Breakfast tasted good and was included, but there was no tea, coffee, juice, or even water served with it. We paid extra for tea, which was far too sweet. We also wanted to eat at 7:30am, but were told 9am was the earliest. It's an okay place, though not the best.

We had a really nice stay. The hosts were friendly and always ready to help, and the breakfast and welcome drinks were delicious. Our room was clean and roomy, with air conditioning, and the location had a nice view. It’s close to the beach and restaurants, too. Highly recommend it.

The hosts were lovely, the welcome drinks and breakfast were delicious, and they arranged all our laundry for us. A few of our rooms only had cold showers, which was the one issue. Apart from that, everything was perfect, and the location was great.
