We stayed for seven nights and were sad to leave. The fresh fruit was lovely, and the family made a real effort to vary our breakfasts. They were so welcoming and friendly, the shower was great, and the location worked well. The hosts really were the highlight of my trip.

The host family treated us very nicely, but the room was unusable. As soon as we opened the door to our private room for two, a really strong mold smell hit us. I’ve travelled during rainy season before and can handle some damp smell, but this was extreme. The owner showed us another room after we said we couldn’t stay; it was a little better, but still very bad. We left without staying even one of the two booked nights, and had to pay a one-night cancellation fee. That was frustrating given the state of the room. I’m sharing this to warn potential guests, not to bash the owner for charging us.

Aunty cooks delicious Sri Lankan food. I shared a photo of the coconut rice. The room was excellent, and the people give the place a real family feel. You can book them on booking.com.

The owners were very kind and made us a lovely breakfast. Our room was good and had a warm shower. We had a lovely stay and I’d recommend it.
