Ganisha and the whole family made us feel so warmly welcomed from the start. She, her husband, and the children are wonderful, caring people, and you can feel how much love they put into things. We spent a week there as two guests, each with our own room, which worked perfectly. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated, and thoughtfully arranged, and it felt like home. Ours had fans that worked well, and other rooms have air conditioning. You can eat there at very fair prices, and Ganisha is an outstanding cook. We also took a cooking class with her, one of the biggest highlights of our trip. The villa is on a quiet little street, just a 1-minute walk from the beach. This stretch was much less crowded than Weligama town, which we really liked. The town center is still only a 4-5 minute scooter or tuk-tuk ride away, so it’s close while the area stays peaceful. It’s also highly recommended for families with children. Our stay at Weligama Eco Bay Villa was incredible, truly one of the highlights of our whole Sri Lanka trip and our best stay in the country. We’d come back every time. Thank you for everything, Ganisha, we’ll miss you so much 💛

The food they make is awesome, and Ganisha and her family are so welcoming. They were always happy to help or answer questions. Our ensuite room was clean and comfortable, and the beach is less than 100m away. Such a lovely place, we’ll be back 🧡✨

We spent a week here in March 2025 and came away with really warm memories. The villa is cozy, with friendly hosts and interesting guests from all over. It’s just a minute from the ocean, while sitting a little away from the busy tourist stretch. There’s a fully equipped kitchen, and you can also order breakfast, lunch, or coffee from the hosts. A nearby cafe serves tasty local food. Would recommend 👍

We meant to stay for two nights, but kept extending because leaving felt impossible. It had that home-like feeling from the start, and the peaceful garden was lovely to spend evenings in. The street is quiet, with at least three local restaurants just steps away, and the beach is a short walk. You’ll find beachside restaurants and hotels there with sunbeds for rent, plus a surfing school. The town center is a bit far on foot, though getting around was easy since there was always a tuk-tuk waiting at the end of the street. The host shared lots of helpful tips on what to see and do. You can also get something to eat, do laundry, or rent a scooter here. A charming homestay, highly recommended!

We had a good time at Weligama Bay Eco Villa. It’s close to a beach that’s good for learning to surf. The owner was really friendly, and our garden room was basic but clean and big enough.
