I was very disappointed by the food quality. There was a fly in my meal, which is unacceptable and unhygienic. The restaurant needs to pay much closer attention to cleanliness and food safety.

We waited over 30 minutes for our order. The fish stew was listed at 300g but had only five small fish pieces, less than 50g in all, with 200g of potato and the rest gravy and vegetables. The cheese kottu barely had any cheese. When we raised it, the waiter wouldn't accept their fault. We felt totally ripped off.

Victory Inn has rooms too, and the service was top notch. I stopped by over a weekend, first for breakfast and then for lunch the following day. The menu is typically Sri Lankan, simple but tasty. You can get a drink at the Juice Point, or head to the Cheers Bar for a good selection of beers, wines, or something stronger.
