Adams Peak Inn

We spent two days there while climbing Adam’s Peak. It was a peaceful, comfortable place to rest, and everything was well maintained and met our expectations. The trail is within walking distance, so the location worked perfectly for hiking. A great place to stay nearby if you're planning a climb.

The room was clean and had mosquito nets, and the view from the restaurant and communal terrace was beautiful. Hot water in the bathroom was a bit inconsistent. The location is great for climbing adam’s peak, but the noise made it hard for us to sleep before our 2-3 am start. There are slits above the doors and sound carries through the whole property, so the owners and staff drinking and chatting late at night disturbed us. I found the menu steep for the quality. We tried the kottu, which had dry, unseasoned chicken. For bed and breakfast, we were told we could only have the English breakfast, even though the menu listed English and Sri Lankan options at the same price. It wasn't bad, but at that price point I'd expected otherwise. We were disappointed, especially since a guidebook recommended the hotel. Maybe we were just unlucky during our stay.

Even though we had to cancel our planned stay because of an unexpected situation, I wanted to mention how professionally and kindly the owner handled it. We booked by phone, had paid a deposit, and told him five days ahead that we couldn't come. He agreed straight away to refund us and didn't argue, unlike others we've dealt with in the business. We needed to make a couple of reminder calls, but he stayed polite and sorted it out without fuss. That kind of gentlemanly behavior is rare. Thank you for understanding, and all the best. We hope to visit when the timing works out.

Our group stayed at Adams Peak Inn Hotel in Maskeliya and took two rooms. The location was really nice, and the food was very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the stay pleasant. One room was clean and comfortable with a nice washroom; the bathroom in the other could have been cleaner. We had a good time there.
