White Elephant Hotel

After climbing the peak, the 11am checkout meant I couldn't get much sleep before leaving that same day. Getting back to the hotel was rough too, since it's one of the accommodations furthest from the start of Adam's peak trail. On the way there, that distance was fine. The room had plenty of space, but it smelled moldy and got really cold at night. The little blanket wasn't enough for me. There was also bird poo all over the floor outside my room because a family of sparrows had made a nest right above the door. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good after the climb: an egg cooked how you like, toast and jam, fresh fruit, juice and tea.

We had delicious, generous meals, and the staff were friendly and supportive. The surroundings are beautiful, with plenty of parking, and you can reach 'Seetha Gangula' easily through the garden. We didn't find any safety issues. Rooms have lots of space, balconies, and sitting and dining areas. I heard the management changed recently, and it seems like a good change. The hot water in some rooms still wasn't up to standard, though.

We had to move between three rooms, and some of them didn't have water. The hot water wasn't working either. The owner doesn't know how to speak to customers, and the way they communicate and treat people makes this a bad hotel.

The food costs a lot per person, so I'd rather buy it outside. If the food were half the price, that would be acceptable. The room charges are high too, but seem reasonable compared with other hotels and the service. The hotel is in a beautiful spot, with large rooms and balconies. The bathrooms were clean and had hot water, security was good, and the service was very good. The staff were friendly and polite.
