We booked Bridge Hotel again for our return to Colombo, this time before an early flight, and everything went smoothly. Dinner was just as good as breakfast, and the owner drove us to the airport at the promised time, leaving us enough time for all the security checks without getting us there unnecessarily early. On our first stay, we’d arrived late at Colombo airport and were picked up without any trouble. Our room, toilet and bed were clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I’d forgotten to get cash at the airport, but they let me pay in Euros at a reasonable rate. We woke up rested and had a delicious full breakfast at our little table on the front porch. We liked the stay enough to come back, and would happily choose Bridge Hotel again.

A nice first-night stop after the airport. The rooms were clean and pleasant, though there were a few bugs around. The gardens have a lovely forest-like sound, and breakfast was fine. You get what you pay for.

It’s very cheap and close to the airport, but planes pass quite near, so sleeping well can be really difficult. They offer a free airport transfer, but ours didn’t happen because the driver said he’d fallen asleep, so we took a taxi. Not a huge deal, but still. When we arrived, nobody was there, though a few rooms were open and we took one. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good, then we checked out.

We stayed in July 2018. Mr.Niluk was a very nice gentleman and arranged our Sri Lanka tour, and the driver he provided was excellent. His wife made an amazing breakfast, and can cook dinner too if she gets advance notice. The place is a little outside town, which is why I’m giving it four stars, but he always gave us a free ride. Highly recommend.

The photos are misleading. This place is a dump: dirty room, stained sheets with cigarette burn holes, and trash hidden behind the bathroom sink. The bathroom was full of cockroaches, with flies and mosquitoes all around. Don’t go there!
