Green Light Holiday Village

The worst part was finding my AirPods missing one morning. We tracked them with my phone, and they started beeping when we got close to a staff member. When we asked if he knew where they were, we found them in his pocket. We were the only guests there, so he must have known they were ours, but he didn’t admit he had them until we showed they were on him. There were problems with the room and pool too. It smelled of cigarette smoke when we arrived, the sheets were stained, and the pool was murky and green, nothing like the earlier photos. There were creatures in the water, bugs in the bed, and plenty of mosquitoes. We ended up covered in bites. We were also woken between 1 and 4 in the morning by staff partying, with loud music and shouting. The manager dealt with it after we called, but it started up again an hour later. He quoted 5000 rupees for a taxi ride that costs 1000 rupees, and the beer bill was 20% higher than the price he had told me. We felt unsafe here. What an awful place.

The owner was flexible, and the place was quiet and spacious, with a full-sized pool. Our rooms were large and comfortable, though cleanliness was only about 3/5. The food menu seems to be for food brought in rather than prepared there, and what I saw wasn't very good. Noise and bringing your own drinks weren't an issue. We had some good time there, but the experience was average. I can still recommend the place.

We left because the place felt too risky. There was glass fitted above the bathrooms and bedrooms, and after hearing noises above the ceiling, we saw someone peep through one of those panes three times. When we complained, staff wouldn't accept that it had happened. A few people from our group climbed onto the roof to see what was going on, and then we decided to go straight away. We'd picked Green Light Holiday Village because the distance, rates, and crowd all seemed convenient. The room had a bad smell, dirty sheets and towels, and problems with the door locks and AC. We tried to put that aside and enjoy our time, but the incident after dinner made us leave.

Bugs in the green pool and mosquitoes in bed left me covered in bites. Staff also quoted 5000 for an airport taxi, when PickMe showed 900. I wouldn't recommend it. Avoid.
