We only had one night at the guesthouse, and my friend and I both wished we could have stayed longer. Araa took us by tuk tuk to some gorgeous waterfalls, and spending the evening with him was such a lovely part of our visit. He’s a wonderful person, and his mother is a real gem too. You can tell they’re a lovely family. Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Wishing them the best, and I hope we meet again soon ❤️

The hike within walking distance was one of the best we did on our trip, and breakfast was lovely too. Ara and his mother looked after us so warmly, with excellent food and thick blankets that kept us comfortable through the cold nights. A few lively woodpeckers even knocked at the cabin door. People are often welcoming in Sri Lanka, but the owners here went out of their way for us.

Araa showed us around the area and took us to a tea factory, though we didn’t stay at the Wood Cabana. He speaks great English and happily explains all sorts of things, so we’d recommend him as a guide. When our train was cancelled the next day, he even drove us to our next destination.

Ara and his mom made us feel welcome straight away, even though we hadn’t booked ahead. They let us look at the rooms before we chose to stay. The cabin is charming and well cared for, and Ara took us by tuk-tuk to a tea factory and some local food places. It felt like hanging out with a friend. Our one night at 2020 Wood Cabana was cozy and special, with wonderful hosts.

We had a great time here. The host family was so friendly, and the owner took us to a tea factory and some waterfalls. Cooking with his mom was a lot of fun, and the food came out tasty too. It’s a lovely place to cool down after the heat at the coast, and we’d absolutely recommend it.
