Maples Holiday Resort

We booked two rooms for three nights but left during the first day. The toilet didn't work properly, and the lady wouldn't let us switch rooms. It smelled bad and felt mouldy. There was only one outlet, and the heater, which cost extra, didn't work either. The toilet seat and cover, bathroom latch, shower and mirror all needed repairs. Towels, sheets, mat, curtains and TV were awful, and the TV didn't work. Such a waste of money and a terrible stay.

The food was the worst part for us. We gave them carrots, leeks, Astra, noodles and a whole chicken of about 800g for lunch, and specifically asked for shredded chicken in the noodles. They ignored that request and put in only the giblets, the bits usually kept for pets. It was really disappointing after handing over good ingredients. The hosting family's manner also changed after we confirmed the booking, from polite and welcoming to somewhat rude. We knew the family room was 7,500 LKR but were charged 8,500 LKR. We didn't raise it because it was a last-minute booking and the place still seemed worth it to us. The family room we stayed in was very clean and tidy, and so were the common areas. The blankets were comfortable, the utensils were clean and good quality, and the property was neat, serene and pleasant for the price. The washroom door lock was broken, though.

We had a really peaceful two-night stay at maples. Nobody disturbed us, and the lady looking after the place was so helpful and kind. Thanks for the service, we'd definitely come back ❤️

We hired the whole bungalow for three nights at LKR 35,000, which seemed fair for such an expensive area, and it works well for a group on a budget. The location is good, with room to park, and all six bedrooms have their own washrooms. Hot water was available in every washroom and the kitchen. The damp weather had left most bedrooms feeling a bit damp. Some light repairs are needed in the washrooms, and the balcony furniture was broken and the area dirty. The hall sofas needed cleaning too. Without floor mats the whole place felt cold. These are small things that regular cleaning, upkeep and a bit of waterproof paint could fix.
