Villa 14 Bolgoda

We had a day outing at Villa 14 with our team from MAS Holdings, and the deck looking out over the lake was a highlight. It was a lovely spot for a quiet morning or evening, with beautiful views. Getting there was part of the experience: first a scenic ferry ride, then a drive through lush greenery. On arrival, the entrance felt cozy and elegant, and the villa was spacious and airy. The rooms, bathrooms, and pool were all impeccably clean. Staff and management were supportive throughout and helped everything go smoothly. It was a five-star experience for us, and I'd highly recommend Villa 14 to anyone after a peaceful, luxurious retreat.

We enjoyed the calm setting and the view, and the jacuzzi was lovely. There is a 30 minute limit, though, and using it longer meant paying another 2000 for six people. Reaching the island also meant taking a ferry, which cost 1000/= per vehicle for the round trip. The employees were nice but looked exhausted. They struggled with the workload, and we had to point out what needed cleaning. Upkeep was poor and the welcome didn't feel satisfactory. It was a nice experience, but maybe not worth the price and hassle if you're coming from far away.

Villa 14 Bolgoda sits on a quiet private island in Bolgoda Lake, surrounded by greenery and lovely lake views. The villa fits into the natural setting beautifully, and the atmosphere felt peaceful and almost magical. I especially liked relaxing by the infinity pool or having tea on the deck. It was a welcome break from everyday life. The staff made the stay memorable. They were warm, attentive, and available without hovering, and their knowledge of the area and enthusiasm for the property came through. They handled requests quickly, whether arranging a boat ride or setting up private dining by the lake. The food was a real highlight too. Meals were carefully prepared and presented, with local flavors and international finesse. There was plenty of variety, dietary preferences were easily accommodated, and the fresh seafood captured the feel of the lake's surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the service felt professional and thoughtful. Every part of the stay, from the food and setting to the hospitality, exceeded my expectations. Villa 14 Bolgoda is a special mix of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. I'd happily recommend it for a peaceful, restorative getaway, and I can't wait to return.

The garden was neglected, and the ferry was in terrible shape. We had to pay an extra Rs. 1000 for it, and three of our vehicles were damaged while being unloaded, which caused a lot of unnecessary trouble. The food was poor, with little taste or quality, like what you'd get at an alms-giving. Customer service was awful, and nobody made a proper effort to help or accommodate us. The owner or the lady at the head office didn't seem to know how to communicate with customers. Villa 14 was a complete disappointment and not worth the money. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Avoid it.
