The service was disappointing from the start. When I booked, I didn’t even get a smile, and I didn’t feel welcome. I’d got used to really warm, kind, helpful hosts everywhere I stayed in Sri Lanka, so this stood out. Then I had to cut my trip short because of a health issue. I asked two days ahead if I could shorten my stay and was told a firm no, that I had to pay even if I left. A day later, after I’d already changed my plans to stay longer, they told me I had to leave because the room had been rented to other guests. The communication was unpleasant. The room itself was spacious, modern, and clean, with A/C, a fan, hot water, a storage cabinet, desk, and drying rack. There was no view, but the beach was a few minutes away on foot. It was a bit expensive.

I booked a long stay here a month ago, but left after just one day. The staff were rude and greedy, seeming to want to get as much money from guests as possible. I left before things got uglier. I’d also rented a bike from this place, and that was the worst decision. In short, the staff were bad, and the service and behavior were worse. Never come here.

For an off-season stay, the location is best. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable, and both the Wi-Fi and fan worked well. There was a mouldy smell, though, and nothing would dry in the room, but you can use the outdoor area. The beds have mosquito nets, so maybe just use one instead of complaining. I didn’t get a single bite. The person at reception didn’t speak any English, but we managed. I think you get what you pay for.
