Sinharaja Forest Sanctuary Hotel

Beautiful surroundings and kind hospitality made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Our host was always ready to help whenever we needed anything. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this relaxing place to anyone visiting Sinharaja.

The stay was extremely disappointing, with several basic problems left unresolved. We had no water for bathing, and even after telling the staff, it took too long to address. There was no hot water either. Meals didn’t arrive at the requested time, so we were left waiting for a long time. The room wasn’t properly cleaned during our stay, and the dustbin wasn’t emptied regularly. A bad septic tank smell spread through the room and corridor. The air conditioner remote didn’t work, so we couldn’t adjust the temperature properly. The manager was disrespectful and unprofessional when we raised concerns, responding rudely instead of trying to fix things. The hotel failed to provide the basic comfort and service guests should expect.

We stayed at Sinharaja Forest Sanctuary Hotel on 2nd May 2026 and found it calm and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature near Sinharaja Forest. The facilities were clean, and the hotel offered a nice balance of comfort and a natural setting. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. It was a memorable stay, and we’d happily recommend the hotel to anyone looking for good food, warm hospitality, and a nature-filled getaway.

The food was absolutely fantastic, a 12/10, and the pool was clean, fresh, and well kept. The kids loved swimming there. Host Saman was friendly and really accommodating, which made the stay even better. Our place was private and relaxing beside the scenic Ging ganga, and the rates were competitive for the area. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and as expected. It's only 2.5km from the Pitadeniya entrance to Sinharaja, great for a family forest hike or a Stella trip with friends. Each unit also has two separate beds in addition to the main king-size bed. They went above and beyond with the BBQ, karaoke, hiking guide, white water rafting just above the location, and other help with arrangements. A big thank you!
