The rooms were amazing, and the hotel was good. The staff were kind and helpful, and both the service and meal were excellent.

The dinners were a highlight, both the Western and traditional Sri Lankan meals. They were full of flavor and made with fresh local ingredients. Breakfast had a good variety for different tastes, too. The staff were warm and attentive, and their humble service made us feel at home. It’s a peaceful, welcoming place for families, friends, or couples, and a great choice for a quiet getaway. We highly recommend it.

We celebrated our wedding at Ruins Chaya Hotel, and the day felt magical. The venue, surrounded by nature and full of rustic elegance, made a beautiful setting. Floral arrangements, lighting, and seating were all done beautifully and exceeded our expectations. From our arrival, everything was handled with care, professionalism, and warmth. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout, keeping everything on track so we could enjoy the occasion with friends and family. The food was exceptional, the service flawless, and our guests are still talking about how memorable the day was. Thank you, Ruins Chaya Hotel, for making our wedding dream come true. This hotel felt creepy and was empty when we stayed on Sep 25. The charges were too high, but the room wasn’t good at all. Maintenance was poor: the lighting needed attention, the wall was very damp, and the bed linen was torn. The kettle wasn’t hygienic, bathroom fittings weren’t fixed, there were leaks, and the handles were broken. Please don’t book based on pictures on Booking.com, Agoda, or other online platforms. Come and check the rooms in person before staying.
