Wild Glamping Knuckles - Thema Collection

The boat safari was one of the great nature outings on offer, and we had a wonderful experience in Gal Oya’s natural setting. Our tent was fully equipped and felt like a five-star hotel room. The team took great care of us, and the food was among the best we ate during our Sri Lanka trip. Much of it tasted homegrown. Definitely worth a visit.

After a very disappointing stay at Waraka Resort, we arrived at Glamping Gal Oya with doubts and low expectations. Those changed as soon as we got there. The welcome was simple but warm, and the property looked stunning, carefully designed to fit into nature. We parked our car and took a vehicle provided by the hotel for the final 300-350 meters, since low-profile vehicles can’t get through that stretch. The staff were kind, friendly, and always ready to help. A highlight for the kids was a jungle trek near the hotel with a guide from the indigenous community. They loved it and came back with memories they won’t forget. We’ll definitely visit again.

I felt completely safe walking around the property alone, which I really appreciated as a woman. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and all the amenities were great. We also enjoyed the activities, including Makara, Gal Oya National Park, and time with the vadda's. The stay was peaceful, quiet, and serene. Mr Chandana prepared delicious meals, and Mr Udara took his time explaining every detail as our naturalist. Thanks too to Mr Achintha, the Manager, and the rest of the staff for making us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was excellent, and everyone was friendly. I’d definitely visit again.

We toured the on-site farm and loved seeing the hotel’s farm-to-table idea in action, with all sorts of crops growing there. The tents were clean and well equipped, and the housekeeping staff did a great job keeping everything in good shape. We stayed two nights at Wild Glamping Gal Oya, and it was one of my best stays in Sri Lanka. The team, led by Asanka and Achintha, made sure we had what we needed and enjoyed ourselves. Chef Chandana prepared fantastic meals with plenty of choices. I also had fun conversations and excursions with Rohan, Kaveesha, Chamindhu, and Vishudh. They were all great to chat with. I’ve got nothing bad to say about our stay, and I’ll be back!
