We had a comfortable, spacious room with a lovely patio, tucked into beautiful greenery. The washroom was spotless, and breakfast was a generous plate of roti with butter and jam and an omelette. Sigiriya Fort is about 4 km away, so it worked well as a base. The owner was quick to answer questions a few hours before we arrived and welcomed us warmly at 8:00 PM, after dark. We booked Green Bamboo House through Booking.com, and the service was great. A washroom exhaust fan and a quicker water heater would help guests getting ready for early trips to the fort. Still, it was a beautiful stay and I’d recommend it.

The owner was welcoming and attentive, and arranged both a tuktuk trip to Pidurangala Rock and a safari for us. We also really enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the dinner they cooked. The house sits in a stunning, jungle-like garden. Thanks for the hospitality, we had a great stay.

The homecooked meals were great, and the whole place felt peaceful and close to nature. We stayed last week, and the husband, wife, and kids were all so sweet and made us feel at home.

The owner greeted us with flowers and was very nice. The room and large bathroom were both very clean, and there was a mini refrigerator. Lion Rock is only about a 10-minute drive away. They can take you there for a reasonable price if you want. We felt it was all worth the money.

Even though it was late at night, we were able to check in as soon as we arrived. The host helped with everything and drove us whenever we needed a ride. He and his wife made us feel at home, and we’ll always be grateful for that. The host, in particular, was just perfect.
