We were treated like family by hosts who were incredibly kind and helpful without ever pushing themselves on us. The room was spotless and had everything we could need, with comfortable beds and a very functional bathroom. This was the best place we stayed during our 16 day trip in Sri Lanka. I can’t recommend it enough, and I already miss it. 🤗

My favorite part of our five nights at Shady Mango was the hospitality from Nayana and Sunil, who made us feel like family. They helped us organize our itinerary, took us around in the family tuk tuk, and served generous, delicious breakfasts. We stayed longer than most, who only spend a couple of nights, but the time flew by with so much to do nearby. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. It’s in the heart of Sigiriya village, a 7 minutes walk from a great viewpoint of Lion Rock, with lots of restaurants around. Staying here was one of my best decisions in Sri Lanka. Book here, you won’t regret it!

We asked if we could take a cookery class to learn traditional Srilankan breakfast dishes, and they welcomed the idea. The next morning we got started early, learned four delicious dishes, then feasted on them for breakfast. Brilliant concept, cook your own traditional breakfast! The homestay is very clean and comfortable, in a leafy, peaceful setting, and the breakfast was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our group of five had an amazing two-night stay at Shady Mango Villa. The hosts were lovely, helping us arrange tuk-tuks and cabs and sharing some interesting stories about Sri Lanka and India. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and had a homely feel. Cafés are nearby, and breakfast was just perfect. Totally recommend it! 🌿✨

Sunil and Nayana are such good hosts, and you can feel how much care they put into this family-run place. Their garden feels like an oasis of flowers, greenery, and shade trees. Sigiriya can be hot during the day, but inside the grounds the air feels cooler and calmer. Sunil is also a guide at Lion Rock, and he and Nayana can share local tips and help tailor your stay. His TukTuk is available to arrange rides, which makes getting around easy. The breakfasts are delicious, the beds are comfortable, and the new rooms are well kept with air conditioning that works perfectly. Shady Mango is a wonderful place to stay in Sigiriya. I couldn’t recommend it more.
