We had incredible views over the rice paddies from this picturesque homestay, and Garmini was a fantastic, friendly host. His Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing, and the location worked perfectly for us, close to town and especially Lion Rock. The one downside was loud bass from neighbours in all four directions, from 7am to 10pm during our three days. It seems to be a Sigiriya issue, so I imagine it would be the same wherever you stay. We’d come back, 10/10.

The host made us feel like family and was so attentive, sharing stories and tips about local culture and nature. From our tree hut, we looked out over vivid green rice fields, with a gentle breeze moving through the plants. Sunrise and sunset were especially peaceful. It was a lovely mix of adventure and comfort, and a memorable way to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.

The bungalow is simple, but the nature around it is amazing. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. For a lovely host and a good spot in Sigiriya, I’d definitely recommend Sigiriya Paddy Field Hut!

The huts have what you need, with a nice view over the rice paddies, and you can spot all kinds of animals from the balcony. We especially liked the kind host and his team, who did everything to make us comfortable. He also showed us around his wood carving shop without pressuring us to buy anything. Breakfast was huge, and they could include lots of vegan items when asked. Bring insect repellent! Best wishes to the team.

We had a great stay. The balcony hut was a fun experience, and the room was comfortable, with a fan to keep it cool. The team were friendly, kind and accommodating, and helped however they could. Thanks for looking after us!
