After a beautiful drive through a traditional Sri Lankan neighborhood in my rented tuk tuk, I came through the property gates. Two gentlemen emerged from the banana trees and greeted me like old friends, then hopped into the back of my tuk to guide me 75 meters through a lush garden of organic fruit and vegetables. My detached bungalow stood out in the middle of the garden. It was beautifully designed and one of the cleanest places I stayed in all of Sri Lanka, with a big porch, a large bathroom, a powerful AC, a fan, and one of the most comfortable beds you could ask for. The owner, Prabash, and his trusted assistant, Ajith, were two of the nicest people you could meet. They’d do anything to make the stay perfect, from arranging transport to bringing tea or something to eat at any time. Prabash cooks wonderful meals using his mother’s recipes, at very reasonable prices. The dining area was lovely, and the food was among the best I had in SL. This property really stands out from the others nearby, and I highly recommend it.

Prabash and ajit were so welcoming, and quickly sorted out any issues I had. The staff were lovely, prices were great, and they often offered me tea or snacks. My room was clean and nice, and the garden was beautiful and well kept, with lots of different fruit growing. They gave me rides to dambulla and sigiriya at a good price, and both breakfast and dinner were tasty. The only thing I didn’t like was the wifi, which kept cutting in and out, so I had to use a lot of my own internet.

The homemade meals were wonderful, made with fresh ingredients from the garden, and I loved the authentic, fun live cooking class. My room was spacious, bright, spotless and completely mosquito-free. The care and respect for guests came through in everything, from the warm welcome to the thoughtful details. They also have lovely handmade Sri Lankan products at a big discount and offer discounts for drivers. Prabash is deeply caring and attentive, and seems genuinely devoted to guests’ well-being. He’s honest and helps people save money while finding great experiences. Ajith deserves thanks too, always kind, available and happy to help with requests. Their 9.9 rating on Booking reflects how respectfully guests are treated. They can arrange a tuk-tuk, trusted local guides, sunrise and sunset outings, safaris and massages. Everything was organized reliably and at very reasonable prices. I’d recommend booking activities through them, since you can save money, feel safe and leave with wonderful memories. This retreat surrounded by nature felt truly magical.

Prabash and Anjit looked after us so thoughtfully, and made sure we could see the most beautiful spots. The breakfasts and dinner they cooked were packed with tasty traditional food, including fruit picked from the gardens around the property. They’re so kind and really want you to have an unforgettable stay. The spacious bungalows were clean and beautifully decorated. We’d spent two months in Thailand before coming here, and this was the most comfortable place we’d stayed. The property is among lots of banana trees and feels like a jungle. It was incredibly peaceful, with birdsong and wonderful views.

Prabash welcomed us warmly at Prabha Villa with tea, pastries and lots of lovely stories. We had a wonderful stay, and the breakfast was delicious, all organic and from his beautiful garden.
