Sigiri Saman Home Stay was our first place in Sri Lanka, and it set a very high bar for the rest of the trip. Praneeth, his father Saman, and his warm, welcoming mother Chitra made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The homestay was spotless, peaceful, beautiful, and surrounded by nature. We woke to birdsong and occasionally saw a peacock nearby. Sigiriya Rock and several restaurants were within walking distance, which made it a convenient base. Praneeth was one of the best hosts we met on our travels. He was knowledgeable, resourceful, and proactive, helping us plan our Sigiriya itinerary and make the most of limited time. He suggested attractions, sorted out logistics, shared local insights, and patiently answered our many questions. He even took us around to see major attractions and find places we might otherwise have missed. His dedication to showing us his hometown made a huge difference. Thank you, Praneeth, Saman, and Chitra, for your warmth and generosity. You gave us more than a place to stay, you created an experience. Looking back, every stay that followed was measured against yours.

Saman welcomed us and shared ideas for safaris and other activities. The main street and Lion Rock are both an easy walk away, and breakfast was included, with coffee, tea, eggs and toast, plus local dishes. We stayed one night on our Sri Lanka trip. The room was simple and clean, with cold air conditioning and a bathroom with hot and cold shower. Affordable, welcoming, and a great homestay.

Mr Saman shared interesting facts about Sigiriya and some good tips. He also arranged a day trip to Polonnaruwa and a safari in Minneraiya national park for a fair price. The rooms are basic but clean, set in a beautiful garden. The location is excellent, with a short walk to lots of restaurants and the Lion Rock entrance. I highly recommend staying here.

The family who run this guesthouse were friendly, polite, and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the property was lush and green. We had a nice stay and ended up extending it by a couple more days.

The breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were genuinely helpful and kind from the minute we arrived. They arranged everything we needed, including a safari tour and tuktuks to get us to our hike, which made the whole stay easy and stress-free. Sirigi Saman Homestay was a wonderful place to stay in Sigiriya. Highly recommend it if you're visiting.
