The staff were especially sweet with our three-and-a-half-year-old son, and so kind to him. We had a pleasant two-night stay at Sunshine Resort and Spa. It's very clean, and the team were friendly and incredibly helpful. The Sri Lankan breakfast was simple but delicious, and we enjoyed lunch there too. We booked a safari at the hotel for a fair price with their own jeep. The staff gave us great advice for Horulu Eco Park, and the tour took about three and a half hours. They also shared useful tips for climbing Lion’s Rock, just a short 15-minute walk away. We'd happily come back.

Ruchira at the front desk made sure I knew the best places and times to go, and Kumara and Akash were great companions on elephant safaris and trips to Lion rock. The complimentary breakfast was a lovely way to try Sri Lankan staples. I spent four wonderful days here, using this well-located place as my base to explore Sigiriya and the surrounding area. Missing it already!

The team were caring and welcoming, helped us with our travel plans, and even arranged an elephant safari for that same day. We stayed three nights at Sunshine resort & Spa. Our room was spacious and the shower was warm and clean. The hotel also has lovely views over nearby rice fields and is a short walk from the lion rock. We really enjoyed it.

There’s plenty of wildlife in the garden and the fields behind the place, and it’s easy to head out to Lion Rock or Pidurangala Rock on your own. Shops and restaurants are close by too. The team looked after us well, arranged tours, suggested where to spot elephants as they move between parks each day, and found us safe, reliable drivers and guides. Breakfast was great.

The owner was the best part of our stay. He worked hard to make sure guests were happy and helped with anything we asked for, from arranging trips to nearby sights to getting us a ride to a spa. I stayed here with my mom in September, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The main sights are nearby and easy to reach on foot. I’ve stayed in a lot of places, and I can highly recommend sunshine resort & spa Sigiriya.
