We spent four nights at Yashi's and found the place beautifully designed, with a lovely garden that contributes ingredients to the kitchen. We learned about that during a cooking class at the property. Yashi's is a very friendly and helpful host, and the property is quiet. Our room was tidy and clean, though a bit dated. New cabins with more modern amenities are expected soon. We highly recommend Yashi's Place and plan to come back.

Getting in takes a little figuring out: the entrance is off the main road along an unpaved lane. But the location is perfect, and the forest setting feels like a peaceful oasis. I only stayed one night, though the atmosphere stuck with me. The room was simple but had the comforts I needed, including WiFi and a hairdryer. The shower had strong pressure, but I couldn’t get the hot water to work. There was a power cut early in the morning because of the recent hurricane, though everything worked fine otherwise. The owner and his family, including the children and grandma, were lovely. Breakfast was Sri Lankan food and fresh fruit picked right from the garden.

We stayed here in March 2025 and had a great experience. The hosts were welcoming, and the breakfast was both delicious and generous. It was helpful that they arranged taxis and day trips for us. The accommodation is surrounded by lovely, peaceful scenery.

A comfortable, clean and quiet place, right in the heart of the djungle. The host family is friendly, open and caring. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner is available on request. We loved being here to enjoy Sigiriya’s nature and would come back.

The family made us feel so welcome, and the meals were delicious and generous at both breakfast and dinner. We really enjoyed the cooking class too. Our room was clean, with a hot shower, working AC, fast reliable wifi and a bug net for sleeping. It’s a very quiet spot, but still an easy walk to restaurants and little road marts. Highly recommend!
