You pretty much have the whole property to yourself, and there's a kitchen you can use. This charming little wooden house sits in a lovely garden with hammocks, sun loungers and a lake view. The owner is a very nice man, helpful and considerate. The creaky floorboards are part of its charm. Good for singles or couples, whether you're staying a short or long time. Highly recommend!
The owner arranged dinner and breakfast, which his wife cooked, and it gave the place a real Sri Lankan feel. For an unbelievable value, the Lake View Cabana was such a tranquil, comfortable spot. It's a single room beside a small lake, with hammocks, chairs and anything else you might want to settle in. Just a couple of minutes' walk from the beach, it was an unforgettable little place to spend a couple of nights in Tangalle. I haven't felt that calm at an accommodation in a long time. This is the place to stay in Tangalle.
Athula was a great host. His Cabana by the lake was so peaceful and a lovely place to relax. One of our favourite stays!
The owner was so friendly and happy to help. We chose to eat breakfast and dinner there for convenience, and his wife's cooking was really tasty and generous. The garden and seating area are well kept, and the lakeside spot is lovely for watching birds and monitor lizards. We could use the kitchen to make tea and use the fridge. This is the only accommodation on site, so most of the time you have the place to yourself. It's rustic, with uneven floorboards, but the bed was comfy and the WiFi was good. Just two minutes from the quieter end of the beach. I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoy peace and quiet while staying close to amenities.
The garden was stunning, and the coffee was extremely tasty.
