French Garden Regish Guest House

Alex and the staff were friendly and helpful, and the beachfront location is excellent. But my stay was noisy. A group of local men arrived around lunchtime, got drunk, then played loud music on a big speaker outside the room block until midnight. On my other two nights, staff were singing and drinking past midnight after Sri Lanka lost the cricket world cup. That’s unfair to paying guests and bad for business.

We chose this place to unwind for a few days at the end of three weeks of low-budget travel around Sri Lanka. We checked the room in person before booking, and it was just right: cozy, very clean, and right on the beach. Alex was professional, welcoming, and happy to help with all our requests. We felt at home straight away. There are sunbeds and beach umbrellas in front, a snorkeling and diving center to the left, and a beachside restaurant and bar to the right. The young people around the place seemed like one big family, and everyone was friendly. We loved finishing our trip here and were genuinely sad to leave. We held a get-together here and had a fantastic time. The staff were attentive and made sure the event went smoothly, and the facilities were comfortable. It’s a beautiful hotel right by the beach, with lovely views and a relaxing feel. I’d recommend it for a gathering or a relaxing stay.
