Trinco Rest House

I feel really sad saying this about trinco rest house, but the rooms are very uncomfortable. Poor management is probably the main reason. Locals might be okay with it because we know Srilanka well, but how could I recommend it to foreigners? The government needs to pay attention to this beach. It's a bad patch for our tourism.

We had a superb holiday, and the Rest House's location was a big part of that. With tourism picking up, I can see the 14 rooms being in high demand. I hope management takes care of a few essential maintenance jobs so the accommodation makes better use of that location.

It's easy to get around from this spot right in the middle of town. The girl at the front table was friendly and explained things clearly, though I found some of the other servers cunning. We ordered four portions of white string hoppers, expecting 15 in each, but got one plate with 53. Prices are high, so check the food and cost carefully.

The grounds were a real plus for me, with covered paths, a huge tree out front, and rooms looking into the inner gardens. I liked that spacious feel after seeing other hotels where the smaller rooms faced a neighboring property. The welcome drink on arrival and morning coffee delivered to the room also made it seem like management is trying to improve the guest experience. I originally booked one night at Trinco Rest House and ended up staying four. It sits near the middle of Dutch Beach, so both the lively northern end and quieter southern stretch were easy to reach. The town center, old fort, museums, and temples are also a short walk away. The rooms were spacious, with air conditioning, hot water, and a cable network that included a few English TV stations. They were very clean, and the price was reasonable. Some maintenance would help, as others have said, but I was happy with what I paid. Booking directly through the online system was straightforward. Madu and Lenuka were especially friendly and helpful. Thanks to them. I plan to stay here again when I'm in Trinco. It's a convenient base for town and the beach, including swimming and snorkeling, and a nice way to experience local food and atmosphere. I also enjoyed being able to walk around and explore.
