The hosts are nice and the location is fantastic, but the place was only okay for us. We saw cockroaches and spiders, and it didn’t feel very clean. Maybe we just got unlucky with our room, but it was dark and depressing. We even named one cockroach Funtsik. ))

The location near the beach was nice, but a large, very aggressive dog went after my 8-year-old son and me as we walked home from dinner. It really ruined our evening.

It’s a cozy, inexpensive place to stay, though it’s far from the beach. There’s a tour company inside that can arrange lots of great Sri Lanka tours. We tried a few and really loved them.
