We were four friends staying one night at Southern Grace Hotel, and it was such a lovely, peaceful place. The staff made us feel welcome, and the rooms were spotless and really comfortable. We also had a great time relaxing by the clean pool. It was a wonderful stay, and we’d definitely like to come back! 💦✨

Southern Grace Hotel is a charming place, and I was very happy spending time there. The owner was kind and made sure I had everything I needed. He also keeps the place in such good condition.

The place was peaceful and quiet, and there were no other guests while we were there. The lady next door was extremely kind and gave us some basic kitchen items. That was helpful, since the listing promised a fully equipped kitchen with a kettle and more, but it was missing basic things. We stayed one night and arrived around 1 PM. The outdoor seating area was dusty, with footprints visible as we walked, so it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The room itself was cleaned well, with fresh bedspreads and towels. The bathroom was okay, but there was only soap and no other toiletries. The AC wasn’t working. We tried to reach the owner twice by phone and then on WhatsApp. I’ve attached the conversation because the reply felt harsh and disrespectful when we were just asking for help. Because the room was hot, we went to the pool. It wasn’t perfectly clean, but manageable. Two technicians from the AC company arrived while we were there to fix the unit. The owner said we didn’t know how to operate it, but that wasn’t the case. I’m sharing this as constructive feedback, not just to complain. Better cleanliness, communication, and hospitality could make this a wonderful place. I hope future guests have a better experience, especially foreigners who might otherwise leave with a poor impression of our hospitality because of issues that could be avoided.

The room was spacious, with minimal equipment, and the AC worked well. WiFi was very weak, so I had to use my dialog, which worked fine. It’s in a very quiet area, though getting to Galle main area by bike or tuk-tuk is easy. There’s not much within walking distance, but you can order food from the hotel at a fair price.
