Unawatuna Nor Lanka Hotel

Breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, but that made sense for the price since we only needed them to sleep. Getting to the beach is easy, though the place is tucked away enough that taxi drivers sometimes had trouble finding it.

We found Nor Lanka around 5 pm after a stressful booking mix-up at a hotel that looked nothing like its photos. They had a room available for that same day and were so helpful and friendly. We stayed three nights and loved it. The hotel is peaceful, and while the rooms are simple, they’re comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great too. Thank you!

The private back gate opens onto the main beach road, and the beach and main road are both close by. It’s a beautiful, cozy place, and although the breakfast portion seemed a little small to me, it was delicious. The one inconvenience during our three-night stay was the lack of a jet spray in the toilet, which we found unhygienic. Still, we had a good stay.

The rooms were fantastic and the shared area was lovely, but getting to the main road was awkward despite the good map location. Breakfast had plenty of options, though the flavor and quality were average. We told staff twice that we needed an early checkout, but nobody was there when it was time to leave. The gardener had to call someone, and the takeaway breakfast they’d offered wasn’t ready. We had a train to catch, so we waited for someone to open reception and couldn’t stay for them to prepare food. We had a pleasant stay, but probably wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family.
