Divyaa Lagoon

This wasn’t luxurious, but it was a different experience. The staff were mostly trainees, apart from management, and it was a little noisy, though they were doing their best. The room was almost good. I wondered if it was worth the price: there’s no TV, the private pool has salt water, there’s no hot water, and the bathroom kit is old. No toothpaste either. The food wasn’t bad and the dessert was delicious, but the menu was very basic and there’s no bar. The road is very good up to the first “Devyaa Lagoon” sign, then it gets terrible. I’d recommend a 4X4, and wouldn’t try going by car. Management has a serious issue with food ethics. I booked consecutive half-board and full-board stays, but water wasn’t treated as part of the meal. They brought a bottle with every meal even though I hadn’t asked for it, then billed each one separately. Even with full board, water wasn’t included.

The room felt completely unsafe. It didn’t have proper locks, and the back door had no lock at all. It swung in the wind, so anyone could sneak in at night. Room service was poor, too. There were no tea or coffee bags in the room, and when I asked for tea, they charged Rs 220 even though we’d paid for full board. The prices are high for the low level of service. Very bad service, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The manager was rude, the food was useless, and the backyard pool was dirty and filled with salt water. The A/C didn’t work properly, and the water and electricity kept cutting out every hour. Very bad service. I’d never recommend this place to anyone.

We stopped at Divyaa for lunch, but they said sandwiches were the only option, so we agreed since there was nowhere else nearby to eat. The service was poor: the cutlery was dirty and the waiter spilled water across the table. The sandwiches seemed at least a day old. With a basic fruit salad, the bill came to over 3,000 rupees. Expensive, bad service, and poor food. I wouldn’t recommend it.
