Su Casa Weligama

Nadun was a warm, attentive host who looked after our family of three, including our five-year-old, and suggested places to eat. You have to try the curry and rice place next door, it’s amazing! We also loved getting morning coffee from flow around the corner. Nadun teaches surfing, and his dad drives a tuk tuk, so it’s a handy setup for surfers. We only wish we’d booked more than two nights. Weligama is a lovely town with plenty going on, and we’d love to return. The homestay is upstairs from where Nadun lives with his family. It’s spacious, clean, and homely, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen with a smoothie maker and hob, and lots of clothes storage. It’s on a side street away from the main road, so nights are quiet. Our daughter loved being in charge of feeding the resident dishes! The location is great: the beach is a minute away, and a 10 to 15 minute walk along it takes you to the surf schools and a food court with a pool. You can use the pool free if you buy lunch or drinks. There are also restaurants a few minutes away on the same street, plus a fruit shop, laundry, and supermarket.
