TS2 Weligama Hostel

We stayed eight nights in a room for three. It was basic and quite dim, with warm yellow lights and one ceiling fan. There was only one Type D socket in the room, but more sockets outside by the hanging racks. We sometimes saw ants and lizards, though not many and it wasn't a big problem. The level-three common area looked dusty and a bit neglected, as if it hadn't been used for a while. WiFi is only meant to be available on level three, but we were on level two just below the router and got it in our room. Breakfast and dinner were served daily, but at The Surfer Campus, about 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk or 35 minutes on foot. It was a bit inconvenient to go back and forth for meals and surfing when we usually only had one morning surf lesson. There's a package with two surf lessons and/or daily yoga. By the pool on level one there's an open shower head, but no proper shower room at The Surfer Campus, and there's one toilet at the main reception on the third floor. The savings made this a good budget option compared with staying at the main campus, which also had night activities on some evenings and was probably noisier. TS2 is better placed for town and trying other food options. There's a nearby laundromat charging 600 rupees per kg.
