It was easy to get around the city, with the bus and train stations and the old town close by. I really enjoyed my stay, and the beds were comfortable. The matching bedsheets were a cute bonus. I'd stay again :)

I canceled my second night and asked for a refund after paying over €50 for a room that was in such terrible condition. The receptionist didn't seem interested in hearing about it, said she didn't know how to process a refund, and told me to contact the owner when they returned. I've now spent four days emailing and calling every day to reach the owner. Today the woman on the phone said she didn't want me calling daily, but still did nothing to resolve it. We arrived late at night and were stunned by the room. There was mold, dirt, and bugs everywhere, so I had to clean the surfaces with my own wipes. The mattresses were disgusting and may even have had human feces on them. Hostel Fortune will be your misfortune. Avoid it at all costs!

Not for inexperienced travelers. I found sleeping fine, and the beds were good value and comfortable. The hostel itself was okay for me, but that's because I have experience now. It's really more of a guest house than a hostel. Middle-aged and even older men stay for a long time, maybe even live there, and make the place their own. They aren't the kind of crowd you expect or want when you book a hostel.

The location next to the airport and railway brought constant noise day and night, so real rest wasn't possible even if the rest of the place had been fine. It wasn't. We ended up sleeping on the street our last night to get away, and somehow felt safer outside on the pavement than indoors. We had stayed in budget hostels before, but this was borderline inhumane. The underground rooms felt like a crisis shelter, with damp walls, dirty floors, broken furniture, and a suffocating atmosphere. The hostel reeked of an unbearable moldy, unwashed stench from the moment we stepped inside. Things turned hostile in the shared room. Middle-aged, Russian-speaking men were aggressive and territorial, made it clear they didn't welcome us as Western travelers, and imposed bizarre rules as if they owned the space. They became hostile when we didn't follow them. Actual threats were made, and things escalated until the police had to get involved. We felt truly unsafe and left immediately. The atmosphere was tense from the start. The staff were completely useless, and the owner was the rudest, most arrogant man we've dealt with on the road. He barely spoke English, wouldn't listen, and showed no concern for our safety. He seemed to care only about getting every possible cent. When we explained why we were leaving early, he refused to refund even half the amount we paid for the unused night, tossing back only a tiny, insulting fraction to be petty. No apology or concern, just cold indifference. This was the worst travel experience of our lives, and we're seasoned travelers who've stayed in all kinds of places. It's a dangerous, unsanitary, badly managed place that shouldn't be operating. Avoid it, don't even consider it. Camp in your car, sleep at the airport, walk all night, anything is better. Leaving one star feels criminal. If I could, I'd give a negative amount.

The hostel is cheap and in a good spot, and it has AC. For the price, I thought it was fine. They provide a towel, but you need to put on your own sheets. Some staff have limited English, though they were quite nice and we had no language problems. I hope they check the beds for cleanliness and bed bugs.
