New Town Hotel

The room was decent apart from an electronic problem with the door lock, which kept beeping. The bathroom bin also still had the previous guests’ rubbish in it. Most frustratingly, the bed hadn’t been made when we arrived. We thought it had to be a mistake, then read other reviews too late and saw that this seemed to happen often. After the hotel manager responded rudely and slowly to our message, we made the bed ourselves and got on with it. We managed through our two-day stay, but I still wouldn’t recommend this place. There are much better options in the city.

This is a tragedy, not a hotel. The stair railings on all the top floors are broken, and someone should inspect them. You could die one day. I stayed 5-6 months and left a clean room, but then they sent me a 400eur cleaning bill, saying they’d photographed small damaged spots on the wall that were already there before I arrived. You can’t see them in my photos. Water also came in through my room window after rain. Lithuanian bussiness is scam. Go another hotel, my advice.

After we checked out, the manager cancelled our Booking . com reservation and claimed we’d never stayed, calling it a NoShow so he wouldn’t get a bad review from us. This came after he screamed and threw the keys on the floor when we questioned the breakfast. Completely out of limits. He told us to swim back to Scandinavia! Not a recommended hotel.

We booked a week ahead, but there was no keycard in the pin-secured box when we arrived, even though that’s where it was supposed to be. Nobody answered the phone either. I’d avoid this place altogether.
