Hotel Du Parc

A lovely family-run hotel right in the heart of Diekirch. The rooms were clean, bright, comfortable, and nicely equipped, and the owners were friendly and attentive. Prices are very competitive for the area. It’s a great base for seeing Diekirch or heading to nearby cities.

The room was spacious, and the hotel has a really clean, retro charm. The owner was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental, with fruit, yogurt, a cold platter, and eggs you could boil yourself. It’s handy for walks and cycling, close to the river and town for evening meals. Luxembourg City is also easy to reach on the free transport services in Luxembourg.

We only stayed at Hotel du Parc because the next hotel in our price range was over 10 km away. It was the eighth night of our 10-day bike trip, and the owner was the rudest, most unpleasant person we met on the whole trip. I’ve since seen similar comments here and on Booking, so it seems we weren’t the only ones who felt that way. The entrance is quite small, and we couldn’t see where reception was. It was getting dark, and we didn’t want to leave our road bikes outside, so we brought them in. They were absolutely clean, but he immediately started shouting at us. From the start he was arrogant. The hotel seems to need quite a significant renovation and had a strange smell, yet he acted as if it were the best hotel in the country. I don’t understand how it can be rated three stars.

Back at the charming Hotel du Parc in Diekirch, and it still doesn’t disappoint. The host is fabulous, the service is great, and it’s so convenient for all the amenities. The impressive new trains run to the station just a stone’s throw from the hotel, with easy access to Luxembourg City. I’ll be back for sure.
