Le Petit Poete

A lovely little place right on Echternach’s central square, handy for regional hikes and for finding a bar or restaurant in town afterward. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast had plenty of good options. The rooms are very clean and tidy, though they’re a bit dated and the mattresses could use an update. We had a great experience.

The location is great and the hotel was clean, but it didn’t feel like much effort was made to connect with guests. Nobody was rude, though I felt more like a customer being processed than a person. Breakfast was exactly measured: two small rolls, a slice each of cheese and ham, one croissant, orange juice, and tea or coffee. I don’t eat a big breakfast, but I couldn’t face that same set amount another day. The hotel did little wrong, yet didn’t feel great either. A bit more human warmth would make a noticeable difference.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the central location worked well. Everyone at the hotel was really nice, and breakfast was the usual European-style continental spread.

The clean, lovely room had a microwave, which was so useful with the restaurant restrictions. Breakfast was tasty, and there were lots of interesting places around us, especially mullerthal trail. It could get cold at times, so the room needs warming up before bed.
