The location was a highlight, with lovely nature parks nearby and historic places like Schengen, where the Schengen Agreement was signed, plus the charming city of Luxembourg. We were also grateful for the bright, clean rooms, the spacious parking for our bus, and the delicious vegetarian meals. Thank you for the warm welcome and thoughtful care. We both came away very happy after a family weekend. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean, and for a small extra charge you can get a room with a shower. My sister is a little older, so it was good to find that the hostel suits people beyond just the young. It’s about a 15 minute walk from Echternach city center and a great starting point for Mullerthall hikes.

The food was the biggest letdown: the one dinner I tried was disgusting, so I cancelled the other one. Drilling started at 7.30 every morning throughout my stay, which was horrible. The place is cheap and handy for the nearby hiking trails, though. My room looked clean at first, but close up there was dirt around. Staff were all right, if not very attentive. It was pretty empty while I was there, and I can imagine it getting cramped when fully booked. The rooms themselves are nice, but there were a lot of older people around.

There’s a park to relax in and a lake for swimming, plus volleyball and table tennis. The surroundings are beautiful. Parking is plentiful and free, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean, with a shower and toilet in each one. Fresh linens are provided daily.

We had a joyful, exciting stay, and the Youth Hostel made a perfect base. The extra tips and good provisions were much appreciated. We hope to be back soon!
