Hostel Kaku Maja

We were planning a 10-day stay in a two-room suite, the hotel’s second most expensive option since the presidential suite wasn’t available. We’re a family of three, with a 3-year-old, and asked if they could arrange a place for our child to sleep in the living room. They said no. The only suggestions were a baby cot for a three-year-old or for all of us to share one bed. There was no effort to help or offer another option. We were shocked and cancelled the booking. I’ve never had such awful communication with a client. Absolutely disgraceful.

The hallways and room were a bit too dark for me, but I still really enjoyed my first stay at Baltvilla. The location is beautiful, there’s plenty of parking and an elevator, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I’d asked for a crib, which was ready in our huge room, so there was still lots of space. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choices. I’d happily stay again.

We had a spacious room with a partial view of the lake, and the food was tasty. The hotel is beside a highway, which could be a drawback, but our room faced the other way and we didn’t hear any traffic.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the restaurant food was nice, though it was pricey. Breakfast could use improvement, and there’s no direct lake view. The hotel is only 50 meters from the lake and about 15 minutes from Riga.
