The bartender was friendly, even though I didn't have a drink there. My experience with the skinny blonde receptionist, though, made my stay at this hostel bad. She was mean and unhelpful, and wouldn't let me use the dining room while I tried to book another hostel. She also didn't offer me the free beer that, apparently, other guests got. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she shouldn't have taken it out on a customer she'd just met. Her attitude made me wonder if she had a problem with my age or culture, though I can't say for sure. I was glad they found me a room after it was overbooked, but the way she handled it was frustrating. She acted as if it were my fault that the internet showed availability when there wasn't a space. She said there were lots of walk-ins, including stag parties, but I couldn't understand why that wasn't updated in the system or on Hostelworld. She also said Saturday was fully booked, yet online I saw plenty of availability. They need a better booking log and a more courteous approach.

A great place with helpful staff, a good location, and prices that felt very cheap. The only issue I ran into was that there was no hot water on the first floor, but I could always shower on the second floor.
