The staff were kind and helpful, and for the price I felt I got my money’s worth. We stayed four nights. The kitchenette worked well and the beds were okay, though neither the room nor the beds were anything special. The place is quite outdated, with a musty smell and poor sound isolation. We could easily hear people in other rooms, which was disturbing when we were trying to sleep. If you enjoy old fashioned interiors, you might find the place fun.

The room had a classy, old fashioned look, much nicer than I expected from the outside, and the staff were great. Breakfast was a simple buffet, but it did the job. The location suited me, though it’s far from the old town if that’s where you’re headed. There are good bus links in every direction from the market, just a three-minute walk down one road, so getting around wasn’t an issue.

For 50 eur a night, I think you can find somewhere better. The bathroom is so cramped that getting in is a challenge, and there’s no basin. There’s also an old, musty smell in the room. Still, anyone who loves historic buildings and 18th century architecture may like it.

Everything here was just what I wanted: spotless rooms, very tasteful decor, and a lovely hostess, Laura, with staff who really care about you. Riga center is only 10 minutes away by bus. I’d especially recommend it to international students.

The house even has its own cat! It’s a warm, cozy, and really tidy place, especially good for a longer stay or for students. A supermarket, cafe, and bus stop are just around the corner, and there’s a park about five minutes away for sunny days.
