Home In Riga

The apartment has a distinctive circular layout, with the living room, bedroom, and kitchen arranged around it. It’s very spacious for two, with high ceilings, large windows, double entry doors, and good soundproofing. The bathroom is separate but small, with the toilet nearby. We stayed in September, and the location was handy, about 10 minutes from Old Riga, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. We liked the "Lido" on our street. It’s on the third floor of an old mansion. There’s no elevator, and the staircases are long and very steep, as you might expect in a building like this. Several problems became clear once we settled in. The old bed creaks and has a very soft mattress. None of the three outlets in the bedroom worked, and the floor lamp in the corner was useless. The kitchen barely has enough dishes, and the pots and pans are poor quality, with one completely worn out. There’s also only a small refrigerator. Most of these issues seem easy to fix. The bed and refrigerator are the only costly ones. With those things sorted, the apartment could be practically flawless.
