Janne Hotel

The hotel has a lovely antique feel and was very clean. It’s in a quiet area, not far from the city centre, which suits me since I prefer staying outside the centre. There’s a market very close by with everything, including food courts and a cafe. A coffee shop and a small convenience store are also within walking distance. I called twice to check my reservation, and they were very kind and helpful. My flight got in late, so I arrived at 11 pm, after reception had closed at 9 pm. Self check-in was required, but the process was easy. The room had a kettle, fridge, microwave, dishes, and cutlery, so it seems like a good option for a longer stay in Latvia too. The one thing I struggled with a bit was the shower. The shower area and toilet are on the same floor, with only a curtain between them. I loved the atmosphere and would happily stay again if I return to Riga.

The price and location were good, and booking directly by email came with great service. It’s a cozy hotel with rooms decorated in an authentic style, though some IKEA lamps felt out of place. The beds were a little too hard for me, although others might like them. Maybe mattress toppers would soften them up.

A lovely 3* hotel with plenty of style and atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly. Some people mention a smell in the bathroom, but I didn’t notice one. The bed was really comfortable too.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and we loved the little breakfast they brought to our room. It’s a quaint spot away from downtown’s bustle, but only 3 km from downtown Riga, which was perfect for us. They even keep beehives on the roof. You can tell the owner takes pride in the place.
