Liberty Hotel

We were four people in a large, clean room, and for just two nights it worked perfectly. The location was a big plus, right in the city, with everything easy to reach. For a longer stay, the shared bathrooms and showers might not be ideal, and the beds squeak quite a bit. Still, we were very happy with our stay. :)

The room had its own shower and toilet, and the location was great. It’s a budget place, though, and the old bed squeaked so much that even rolling over made a lot of noise. Fine for a short stay. I didn’t see the other rooms.

I’d give this zero stars if I could. They cancelled the room I’d booked through booking.com on the very night I was due to check in, leaving us with nowhere to stay in the middle of the night and no alternative offered. I’d reserved it about two months ahead and had told them I’d arrive around 1:00-2:00, since they advertised 24-hour check-in. They handled the payment, but apparently hadn’t retrieved it, which was their responsibility, and cancelled the booking. They were fully booked, so I had to contact booking.com assistance to arrange a relocation. It would have been much better if they’d told me about the cancellation earlier.

The location is good, but the standard really isn't. We had made a reservation in advance, but it had been lost, so we had to book again at the front desk. The toilets were messy, the showers had mould, and it got really loud at night because the walls are thin. Our sheets were dirty, and the beds looked like they might have been there since before the fall of the USSR. A hostel should do better.
