Lodge Hara Oasis

A fantastic break during an 8 day bicycle trip around Southern Morocco. We had a really pleasant stay. Thanks for making this place and welcoming cyclists like us.

We enjoyed the lovely staff, the cleanliness, the good dinner, and the musicians my husband liked after dinner. Breakfast was okay, though everything was cold. The Wi-Fi barely worked. The place is beautiful, but the photos and video were made by the owner, who's an amazing photographer, and some make it look better than it is. The rooms are tiny and feel like a chicken barn, while the outside spaces remind me of Gilligan’s Island. I'd call it a one-night pit stop. I booked two nights and found it BORING, since there's nothing to do except hike, which we did. In winter, it's REALLY REALLY cold. There's nowhere comfortable to sit in the room, and outside is too cold. The heat in the room wasn't turned on until 7-8 pm, then was switched off promptly in the morning. Paying $130 per night and freezing like that isn't okay. I think it's way overpriced for what you get. Be careful with the five star reviews. They're all guides!!! They probably get their rooms free and/or the owner gives them heat!!! Shame on this owner!!!!

The dam was closed, so the oasis wasn't as green as it might have been, though the garden was beautifully kept. The market in town was a great place to take striking pictures and get a feel for how locals do their groceries. We stopped here after the desert and it was just right for a hot shower, a rest by the pool, and some reading. Beautiful place and very friendly staff.

Gorgeous views, tasty food, a lush infinity pool, and no light pollution. What else could you ask for?
