I paid for two coffees and some biscuits, then got only 65 MAD back from a 200 MAD note. That works out to 12 euros for two coffees. I don't go on vacation to argue with dishonest shopkeepers, but I'm leaving this here to warn other people.

The owner was charming and generous, and the place itself is magnificent, with a terrace that looks out in every direction. It's a renovated kasha made entirely of earth and straw, and staying there felt like stepping back into the 13th century. This was my favorite hotel during my two weeks in southern Morocco. I'd recommend it for a unique experience, though all those stairs could be hard for older people.
