Kasbah Chwiter Hotel

We booked six nights with half-board through LaCollection AirFrance and stayed only 12 hours. We left the morning after arriving, and the whole experience was surreal. There was no transparency about the place, which seems to be the same establishment as Kasbah Chwiter. The access road was unacceptable, the parking area was practically the entrance, and the outdoor furniture was worn out. The pool was dirty, rooms felt unwelcoming, towels came apart when shaken and there was nowhere to hang them in the bathroom. The shower was poor, the wiring looked precarious, there were no bedside lamps, barely any hanging space in the closet, and our balcony door wouldn’t open. The place was deserted and seemed to be run by two friendly but untrained employees. After our difficult trip on the first evening, they served a set meal of chicken and fries, so the menu seemed like a sham. We tried to light a fire with wet wood, then got it going ourselves in the shared lounge. The fireplace didn’t seem to have been cleaned, and we nearly suffocated, so despite the cold we put it out quickly. Staff had already left. On the way to get water, we came across a gathering of cockroaches. Back in our room there were stains on the bed linen, plus dead insects and hair in the bed. It could be a beautiful place, but it’s terribly managed and caused us a lot of trouble and financial loss. The tourist tax and room rate had both been collected in full up front. The two staff members were very nice, but the owner should seriously rethink the business model. Staying away is best.
